Story of Baby T...
Well...so sorry its taken a while to get to update, I know that you first time moms know how busy its been!
We are working on downloading some of our favorite pics of Beau so far and will be sure to update shortly.
Here's the story for now...Baby T's original due date was Thursday, January 24, 2008, however Dr. Lee had decided to induce us a little early before the due date due to the gestational diabetes which we had decided on Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at 3:30AM. Well, long story short, on Sunday night/Monday morning (1/21) at about 1AM, I felt a sudden "gush" and figured that this might be my water but no contractions...I waited and felt a little more and then decided to call my dr. at about 4ish I guess...she told me to go into the hospital and check it out. After being there for a few hours and an ultrasound later, they came to the conclusion that this was not my water and there was no consistency with the contractions, so they sent us home. They checked a few times and decided that I was about the same as I had been for a couple of weeks - 2cm dialted and 80% effaced. When we got home from the hospital, I started having pretty bad "cramps" which later to find out where contractions. We started to time them and they were about 25 minutes apart, then later in the day down to 10-15 minutes apart, which is when I figured that this could be it (I know, some things take me a while to get :) ). After bearing with these contractions and a few hot baths later, at about 1AM and asked if we could come in for our scheduled induction at 3:30 a little early and they said sure.
When we arrived and they admitted us and checked us, to our HUGE surprise, we were already 7cm dilated and almost completely effaced! I had been laboring at home the whole time! At that point, the pain was pretty bad and not knowing what to expect, I decided to get the epidural. Once that kicked in (in less than 10 minutes), I was feeling NO pain...actually nothing. My family (Mom, Dad and Christine) got there around 5:30AM from Covington and both my and Mike's family continued to come in after a few calls from Mike within the next couple of hours. Baby T was ready and there was no inducing necessary! At about 8:00 AM, my doctor had visited and was amazed by the progress and said that we should have the baby by 10AM and said that I should start pushing. We did that, and she was right - at about 9:15AM they called back in the doctor, gave one more push and then she said, "Dad, you want to tell Mom what you've had?", with LOTS of tears between the both of us, Mike told me, "Its a boy!!"!! I think that we, along with our families were surprised since by the "high heartbeat" we sort of thought it could be a girl the whole time! But BOY were we SOOOO happy to have a HEALTHY little BABY BOY!!! There's nothing like that experience - thats for sure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Since then, we have been trying to get adjusted at home. With his little bit of jaundice at first, we had a little trouble with feeding...but it looks like the jaundice levels are going down a little and as of almost a week ago (last Monday) Beau was at 7lbs, 5oz - almost back to his birthweight of 7lbs and 9 oz. We pray that Beau can continue to eat well and gain some weight and flush out the rest of this jaundice too! We will know more at our 2 week checkup a week from Monday so we will keep you updated.
We are just so happy (and still a bit tired from the new schedule) but would not change ANYTHING - everything is great and we are so proud!
(Any tips or advice on breastfeeding and/or feeding in general would be gladly appreciated too!!)

Latest events...
Hello to all! Hope you all are doing well....
Let's see, we've managed to stay pretty busy since the holidays. Here are a few pics/updates:
Melissa Trouard and Jude Voltz had a beautiful wedding last weekend, January 5, 2008 at Jesuit and City Park. It was so nice to see everyone and I think that everyone had a blast! Congrats Melissa and Jude!
Besides that, LSU defeated Ohio State on January 7, 2008 - NATIONAL CHAMPS BABY!!! Of course, Mike was at the game to witness the awesome victory (while I was at home hoping not to go into labor!) What a game! (I've included a pic of me - and belly - taking down the Mike the Tiger ornament from the tree)
And...Congrats to Kelly and Ricky Corales who introduced their first child, son Cody Richard Corales on January 8, 2008 and to Dina and Ryan Brach who introduced their second daughter, Reese Poet Brach on January 10, 2008. Also, to Kelly and Rob Guidry who introduced their first child and daughter, Emma Claire Guidry on December 18, 2007. Hopefully we'll have some good pics to follow with all of these babies. It was so much fun to go through pregnancy with you guys. Dina and I also managed to catch a pic with our bellies before it was time to Reese to come out (as you can see above)!
As for Baby T...we went to the Doctor (yesterday) for the 38 week check-up and she said that we were up to 80% effaced now and that Baby T could make her/his appearance at any time. I feel fine but still experiencing some Braxton Hicks tightening but really not any "real labor" contractions yet. We know that we don't have much longer and we are just SOOOO excited to meet, hold and hug our bundle! We'll keep you updated!!!

Look...all grown up! (message from Baby T)
Hello everyone! Well...we sure had a great Christmas this year...hope everyone else did too! Thanks again to everyone for all of our awesome gifts!
Just wanted to give a quick update...my mommy and daddy took me for a doctor check up today and we found out that mommy is up to 2cm dilated and 60% effaced (meaning cervix is getting thin and ready for delivery I think). We are at 36 weeks and 2 days today! She said that she would expect to have the baby in the next 2 weeks by the looks of everything....wow! We were real excited, and of course, well....surprised to hear it! But we realize that anything can happen so I guess we shouldn't get too excited yet! My doctor also said that I am 6 pounds, 2 oz today and that he would expect a 7 to 8 pound baby.
Should be an interesting New Years and LSU National Championship (since Daddy is going) - that's for sure!
Here is a pic from my 4D ultrasound today - not too easy to see my whole face. Oh and check out these cubby cheeks - must have some of mommy's round face in me!!!! Can't wait to meet you all - will keep you updated!

Merry Christmas!
Hello to all! Well....its just about here...Merry Christmas to everyone - hope that you have great holidays!!!!
We have about 4 weeks left until our "special delivery" arrives and we can't wait! We will be meeting with the Dr. next Friday to see how we are progressing, how Baby T is growing, etc. so we should now more then. We will give you another update then. Until then, so far so good and we will be busy celebrating the holidays with some family, friends, and hopefully a little relaxation!!
Hope that you like the Christmas tummy picture...it sure is growing by the day...feels like Baby T is ready to bust out of there from the feel and look of her/his elbows, feet, booty, etc. in my belly!

Hello from Baby T!
Hello everyone!!! Here I am last week at 32 weeks! (Sorry that my arm is in front of my face!) I weigh about 4 pounds and will continue to "put on the pounds" until delivery date...whenever that may be (in case I come before January 24, 2008)! I've heard that I look like my Daddy...and somehow I've managed to keep it a secret as to if I am a little girl or boy from my parents...Any thoughts??? As always, please feel free to post (my Mommy and Daddy always love to hear what you all have to say)! I am so excited to meet you all! Have a Happy Holiday season and GEAUX TIGERS!
